There is absolutely no reason to drink more water, unless you are thirsty. When in human history have we ever had access to 'more water'? Your kidneys have evolved to cope with the water you're taking in now.

Show me a journal article in a respectable journal, and I will believe you. In the event that this does not happen, I must tell you that this is the most ill-informed advice I've come across in some time.
